
Not a real good picture since it had to be taken through a screened window but you can see “the sky on his back”. Hopefully he and his mate will choose the box just north of the house and, equally hopefully, the cats and the wrens will ignore them. The wrens are prehaps the worst offenders, going so far as ruining the eggs or attacking hatchlings.
That blue bird box, btw, is one of about a dozen I’ve scattered around the area. Surprisingly, two of them have a pair of blue birds each summer.
Too bad wrens are so territorial, because they are beautiful singers . . .
